Self Care Starter Guide

For Women who are ready to come back to themselves…

Now is the time to come home to yourself and self-care can be your greatest allie in helping you do that.

In this Self-Care Guide you’ll find 30 beautiful pages filled with inspiration, and practical strategies, to help you come back to yourself. Too often we are everything to everyone else and we can lose ourselves in the process. We end up disconnected from ourselves.  Weeks, months and years can go by so easily like this….whilst being numb to your own existence.

As a human being you can withstand great pains but being disconnected from yourself will slowly eat at you in a way that nothing else does.  No amount of money or ‘things’ can mask it for long. You’ll begin soul searching, knowing it’s time to head home and live true to your spirit.

What does Self-Care mean to you?

What does it cost you when you don’t do it?

It’s taken me a long time to learn that self-care isn’t about things you do for yourself like taking a bubble bath. Self-care is actually about changing your mindset to prioritise yourself in your own life…treating yourself with love and compassion, creating boundaries and making empowered choices, and filling yourself up first.

I initially turned to researching self-care strategies and rituals for myself, however, as I began to explore further, I noticed that many women around me were complaining about the same issues. I then had a string of coaching clients crippled with the disease to please and in self-wounding patterns. It was as though now that I could see this pattern playing out in full-effect within me, I began to see it everywhere around me – I suddenly saw, that a lack of self-care amongst women, was an epidemic(!) and it was impacting all areas of our lives, from our careers to relationships, to money and our health!

According to Psychologist Dr Frances Praver, “too many women are modern day martyrs – they give too much, suffer too much, burden themselves unnecessarily, and blame themselves when things go wrong. When women weigh themselves down by the needs and desires of others, there is a slow, silent death occurring – that or they will explode.”

The insights in this guide are backed by research. You will learn what it really means to take care of  and honour yourself.  You can only become empowered and confident and able to step into your personal leadership when you prioritise your self. As they say, fill your cup first otherwise you’ll have nothing to give to others.

Understanding self-care, and learning how to apply it, is needed in order to transform…..and applying it is a life-long journey of practising and building new ways of being and living in the world. When you take care of yourself you’ll allow yourself to make a different choice, a truer choice, a more empowered choice. Once you’ve made one empowered choice, it becomes easier to make another. This is how you can change your life. Our lives are created one choice at a time.
