Are you ready to go from drifting along, carried by the demands of others, to making yourself a priority in your own life?
According to Psychologist Dr Frances Praver, “too many women are modern day martyrs – they give too much, suffer too much, burden themselves unnecessarily, and blame themselves when things go wrong. When women weigh themselves down by the needs and desires of others, there is a slow, silent death occurring – that or they will explode.”
This used to be me. I had no time for myself in my own life. I was at everyone’s beck and call. I was drained. I was burnt-out and I just couldn’t keep going in this way anymore. My spirit was fading and I knew I had to make a change but I did not know what to do or where to start. It’s taken me a long time, a lot of research and investment to learn that self-care isn’t about things you do for yourself like taking a bubble bath (not that there is anything wrong with that – I love a good bubble bath!).
This self care guide came just in time. I'm currently working on building my confidence and self worth and based on my research, that starts with self care and self love. I was honestly stumped as to what that even meant. I then came across your Self Care Guide and I am so glad I did. Your Self Care Guide spoke to every part of me. It spoke gently to my defeated soul and gave her water to drink and a shoulder to lean on. I have learnt so much from it and it will be a staple on my desk to reference and keep me on track. This self-care guide has changed my life. Thank you for your research and your experiences. It lead you to a life of service to all the women including myself that are eager and ready for change but lost about what to do first and how to be consistent.
Self-care is actually about changing your mindset to prioritise yourself in your own life…treating yourself with love and compassion, creating boundaries and making empowered choices, and filling yourself up first.
I initially turned to researching self-care strategies and rituals for myself, however, as I began to explore further, I noticed that many women around me were complaining about the same issues. I then had a string of coaching clients crippled with the disease to please and in self-wounding patterns. Seeing this pattern playing out in full-effect within me, I began to see it everywhere around me – my reticular activation system was hard at work bringing me a mountain of evidence that lack of self-care amongst women was an epidemic!
That’s why I created this Self Care Starter Guide, so that women like you, like me, don’t have to run on empty anymore. It’ s not why we were created and it’s not the way to get things done. There is another way, a better way, a more joyful, fulfilling and authentic way of being of service to others and honouring yourself at the same time.
The seven Self-Care Strategies in this guide are backed by research. You will learn what it really means to take care of and honour yourself. You can only become empowered and confident and able to step into your personal leadership when you learn to prioritise yourself. As they say, fill your cup first otherwise you’ll have nothing to give to others.
Your Self Care Starter Guide also includes a Bonus section on how to Develop your own Self Care Plan. You will find instructions on how to develop your own self-care plan along with a self-care planning template + a daily check-in template which you can print multiple copies of to use each day.
